As soon as you read this first post, Dubai weather in August, you’ll know exactly what to expect from the local climate. If you can’t wait for that summer holiday, already daydreaming about sandy beaches, blue skies, and the refreshing touch of the sea—despite it still being April—well, in that case, maybe forget about Dubai!
Sure, the city offers everything: sandy shores, the sea, bars, restaurants, palm trees, and even some sparse greenery. But during the summer months (from May to November), all of that becomes utterly impractical. The heat and humidity are so intense that staying outside for more than 10 minutes feels unbearable.
Dubai Weather in August
The sun blazes, temperatures soar past 40–45°C, and your clothes cling to you almost instantly in the stifling humidity. The streets are eerily empty; everyone has fled to air-conditioned spaces or migrated to “more tolerable regions” long before the summer begins. You can’t even see the sun clearly, while you certainly feel it. The horizon is shrouded in a hazy mist, with skyscrapers faintly peeking through. The city feels ghostly quiet.
Still wondering about Dubai weather in August?
If you’re hoping for a breeze, don’t count on it. When it comes, it’s hotter than the air itself, like sticking your head into an oven. Worse yet, when the wind blows, it’s as if a giant fan is blasting hot air right into your face, making it almost impossible to catch your breath.
I spent a full month in Dubai—in August. Despite struggling to breathe, melting in the relentless heat, and becoming overly dependent on air conditioning, I was still in awe. The fact that people have built a fully functional city designed to thrive indoors for half the year is nothing short of impressive. It’s a testament to human resilience, more than any typical sun-soaked beach getaway. (Still, find out more about the Dubai summer temperature before you go.)
But if you’re craving that quintessential summer vacation? Well, just pack your bags and head to Dubai—in winter!

Oh wow! It sounds SO HOT. I could not imagine being in Dubai in August.
Quite an experience, I have to say. But well worth it. 🙂 Still, if you go, and when you do, just skip the summer! 😀
